Each semester, PTA provides students the opportunity to register for an 8-week, after school enrichment class for an additional fee.
We took a hiatus in the Fall but proud to have these back for Spring. We still need chairs and committee members for Fall 2018!
Classes are offered on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 2:45 – 4:00 p.m.
Hip Hop Dance (Wednesday: February 7 - April 18)
Join us afterschool for 8 weeks of Hip Hop fun! Hip Hop dance is a high energy style that focuses on rhythm and musicality and promotes physical fitness. Hip Hop combines street dance with fun and jazz commonly seen on TV and music videos. Weekly classes will consist of warm-up, conditioning to teach strength and stamina and fun combos to age appropriate music.
Cost: $100 for an 8-week class
Co-Ed K-5th Grade
Dates: February 21st, 28th, March 7th, 21st, 28th, April 4th, 18th and 25th.
PTA’s ability to offer these programs depends on the involvement of our after-school program committee that does everything except teach the classes to ensure they meet our high standards of success.
We are currently seeking to fill several positions on our 2017-18 After School Enrichment Program Committee.
Please contact Julie Jennings & Anna Duerr at email@example.com if you are interested.
• Vendor Research & Recommendation (3-5 people): Would you like to see a specific type of after school class offered at Stinson? Would you like to bring a new learning opportunity to your child and other students? We need 3-5 people to research vendor programs and provide recommendations to the committee each semester.
• On-Site Coordinator(s) (2-3 people per semester): We need 2-3 people each semester to be the head honcho on-campus during the 8 weeks of classes. You will be the main point-of-contact with ONE program partner, coordinate our parent volunteers and organize student pick up and dismissal to ensure the program rocks! No teaching required! Candidates must be present on campus from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm for each week of the 8-week program.
• In-Classroom Volunteers(s) (50-80 people per semester): We need 50+ people each semester on-site in each classroom during the 8 weeks of classes. You will assist in the classroom and help with the student dismissal process. No teaching required! Candidates must be present on campus from 2:00 pm - 4:30 pm. You don’t have to sign up for all 8 weeks. We also need substitutes just in case.
