S.A.G.E.
S.A.G.E. stands for “Special and Gifted Education”.
What does Special Education and Gifted and Talented have in common?
Children in both areas learn differently and share a common need for a special focus in their education. These students make up approximately 25% of the student population in the Plano ISD.
The Plano ISD Council of PTAs established the SAGE committee to provide opportunities for families and teachers of students who learn differently to share resources.
If you or someone you know has a child who participates in Special Education or PACE (Gifted and Talented Program), SAGE will provide assistance in the following ways:
- Education: SAGE sponsors free classes and seminars throughout the year to provide families and educators the latest information. Popular topics have included: Life Planning for families with Special Needs, SENG Clinics (Supporting the Emotional Needs of the Gifted), Advocating for your Child, Summer Camp Expo (February)
- Communication: The objective of SAGE is to promote communication between educators, families and the community so that all diverse learners get the most from their education experience. Join SAGE on Facebook or subscribe to their monthly e-newsletters SAGE Facebook Link
